About the Artist
Jackie Kruk
Wood and Watercolors began in 2016 as a place to sell all of the decor and designs I had made for our wedding. It grew into a successful Etsy shop, and I continued to work on a variety of projects as our family grew.
Fast forward a few years, and may artwork has focused on watercolors, and I've expanded my portfolio significantly. Watercolors bring me a particular joy - the layered colors, saturated pigments, wide range of techniques, and learning to relax my perfectionism and just let the water flow. It's not an easy medium to paint with, but I like the challenge of having to learn something new with each new painting I take on.
Sometimes you'll see some different things in my shop, like acrylic paint diluted to remind your eye of watercolor, or just things that I find beauty in. I particularly like to mix watercolor pantings with wood-mounted pieces (hence the shop name), for a fun mix of hard and soft materials and unique art. I hope that you check out my gallery and Square shop or Etsy page, and don't hesitate to reach out if you're curious about custom commissions!
My dream for my artwork is to bring people joy, and to show my young daughter that she can also express herself through art, and that her popsicle stick and googly eye masterpieces are just the beginning of her own artistic talents.
